Shoppers in Plano will soon have another place to pick up their Trader Joe’s favorites. A new location is planned for the intersection of Preston Road and Spring Creek Parkway, while a proposed Frisco store continues through the city’s approval process.
New Trader Joe’s Planned For Promontory On Preston
According to a project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the new Plano Trader Joe’s is planned for 5900 Preston Road, where it will serve as the anchor tenant for Promontory on Preston, a mixed-use development approved by the Plano City Council in March. Construction is expected to begin in December and finish in July, per the filing.
The location will be relatively close to Trader Joe’s existing Plano store at 2400 Preston Road, approximately two miles south of the planned site. Once complete, the new store will give residents in the Preston Road and Spring Creek Parkway area another option for shopping at the specialty grocery chain.
Frisco Trader Joe’s Proposal Still Awaits Final Approval
Plano isn’t the only Collin County city in line for a potential Trader Joe’s. In Frisco, plans call for a nearly 10-acre mixed-use development at the southwest corner of Main Street and Majestic Gardens Drive. The proposal includes a potential Trader Joe’s grocery store, a senior living community for active and independent older adults and open green space.
