WILLARD, MO – A fast-growing church organization is starting a couple of construction projects to support its expanding ministry and membership.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced plans for a new meetinghouse near Willard. Meetinghouses are the equivalent of what other religious organizations refer to as church buildings- facilities that house auditoriums for weekly services and other events, classroom space, and administrative offices.
Plans call for the facility to be constructed on an 8-acre plot on Farm Road 76 (Wiley Street), just west of U.S. 160. Article continues below image.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has had a long-standing presence in the Willard area. The group constructed its current meetinghouse on Jackson Street 46 years ago.
