SAN ANTONIO – A man accused in a violent carjacking that left an 80-year-old victim critically injured has been sentenced to 20 years in prison,
According to a press release from the Office of the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzales, Gabriel Urbano pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery on June 18, 2026. Judge Christine Del Prado of the 227th District Court sentenced Urbano to 20 years in prison on Friday.
Prosecutors said the case stems from a February 2023 attack on 80-year-old Larry Brister, who was carjacked, assaulted and left critically injured while making a quick dinner run. Brister was taken to the hospital and “fought for his life for nearly five months” before dying from his injuries, the release said…
