WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – We’re kicking off the week with mild temperatures this morning, but get ready for more heat this afternoon. Under mostly sunny skies, temps will soar into the upper 90s and near 100 in spots. Strong winds from the south could gust up to 40 mph.
A slow moving cold front will begin moving into the state this evening, bringing scattered storms to parts of western and northern Kansas. More scattered showers and storms are expected heading into Tuesday and Wednesday across the state. The risk for severe weather remains low.
The cold front will stall midweek, keeping highs to the west in the 70s and 80s while highs to the east of the front will remain in the low 90s. Big changes won’t arrive until over the weekend, when a stronger cold front passes the area, bringing statewide highs down to the 70s and 80s…
