RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A nationwide debate over Flock cameras and what they do is leaving a lot of people with mixed feelings. There has been plenty of conversation about the cameras here in the Midlands.
WACH Fox sat down with Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott about the flock cameras, and he addressed some of the concerns people had, including the concern that it takes a picture of the driver. On top of that, Lott added that every day the system helps the department solve crimes, including a shooting from just last week.
“It solved the case; it really solved the case. We had a description of the car, and we were able to put that into the Flock system, and it identified the car and gave us a tag number. That’s all we needed right there,” Sheriff Leon Lott said…
