Greenwood business owners say $650K in repairs is ‘long overdue’ first step for Black Wall Street
TULSA, Okla. – Business owners in Tulsa’s Greenwood District say a $650,000 grant to repair historic buildings on Black Wall Street is long overdue — and a first step toward preserving the district for the next generation.
The money, from the National Park Service, is going toward repairs on ten buildings in the 100 block of Greenwood Avenue. Crews plan to repair bricks, replace doors and windows, and restore tile and limestone on the buildings.
