Temperatures spiked from the upper 90s to the century mark in parts of Kansas Monday. This will be one of the hottest days of the week.
The boundary wobbles to the south on Tuesday, bringing the chance of rain into play for more of Kansas.
Cities south stay hot south with heat relief on the northern side of this feature. Highs could stay in the 60s and 70s on the northern side of the boundary with the 90s ahead of it.
A new batch of scattered showers and storms will form from afternoon into evening. This largely targets the southern half of the state, including the Wichita Metro. Some rainfall could be heavy.
A storm or two could also produce damaging winds from central into eastern Kansas.
There will be a general drop in rain chances from Wednesday into Thursday. Temperatures will bounce back warmer. Looks like the next unsettled stretch builds in by Friday night. Off and on spotty chances for showers and storms will be possible over the weekend.
Temperatures should come away from the 90s and favor more of the 70s and 80s this weekend into next week.
