Mike Marino, widely known as “New Jersey’s Bad Boy of Comedy,” passed away at the age of 63 on Tuesday, September 15, his family confirmed.
Marino’s career spanned over three decades during which he brought laughter to audiences worldwide. Celebrated for his Italian-American roots, New Jersey upbringing, and dynamic stage presence, he crafted a unique comedic voice that resonated deeply with fans.
His Instagram tribute highlighted how his memorable characters-Cousin Mooney, Uncle Tommy, Cousin Michelle, and G.I. Giovanni-became cherished figures in the vibrant worlds he created.
In the final days before his passing, Marino had been receiving hospice care after a battle with brain cancer.
Throughout his career, Marino performed at some of the nation’s most renowned comedy clubs and appeared on television series including As the World Turns, One Life to Live, Becker, Nikki, Frasier, and Party of Five. His achievements were recognized with his induction into the New Jersey Comedy Hall of Fame in 2008 and the USO Bob Hope Comedy Award in 2015. Additionally, he earned a Best Actor Clio Award nomination and was a featured performer at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal for seven consecutive years.
