Hagley Car Show Spotlights American-Made Classics

30th annual show celebrates nation’s 250th anniversary with rare vehicles from independent automakers

WILMINGTON, Del. — Hundreds of classic vehicles will roll into Hagley Museum and Library on Sunday, Sept. 20, as the Hagley Car Show celebrates its 30th anniversary and America’s 250th birthday.

The rain-or-shine show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the fields surrounding the first du Pont family home. Thousands of automobile enthusiasts are expected to attend.

This year’s theme, “American Independent Automakers,” will spotlight companies that competed outside Detroit’s “Big Three” of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. Featured manufacturers will include AMC, Packard, Studebaker and Hudson…
