According to FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth, Dallas Police say the 58 reported incidents include some reports from outside the immediate lake area, and that only 18 break-ins had been logged in the same window last year, through September 14, 2025. Police also told the station that current crime levels remain consistent with the previous two years in the White Rock Lake area, even as raw numbers for 2026 have climbed. Officers have concentrated patrol efforts at specific known hotspots, including the dog park at 8000 Mockingbird Lane and 300 E. Lawther Lane, focusing bike and UTV units on locations where incidents have actually been reported.
Thefts Hit Regulars at the Lake
The break-ins have hit people who treat White Rock Lake as part of their daily routine. Emma Jamail, who runs a Wednesday workout class at the lake, told FOX 4 that thieves stole her wallet and work badge, and that her group had items taken from their vehicles for three straight weeks running. Lisa Delano said her car was broken into after she returned from a walk at the lake, with the thieves making off with a bag of dog treats she’d left inside — she told the station she hoped the thieves would eat them.
Delano said she now takes extra care to protect her belongings before heading out for a walk, adding that she worries about her property every time she’s at the lake.
