FOX VALLEY, Wis. (WFRV) – An alarming number of batteries have been pulled from the Outagamie County Recycling and Solid Waste Line this summer, and officials urge that it’s not only a recycling problem but also a fire hazard.
“In the last month we have seen an increase in batteries coming through the recycling facility; over 2,000 pounds of batteries were pulled off the line in just over a month,” Outagamie County Recycling and Solid Waste Coordinator Jordan Hiller said.
That number is 500 pounds more batteries recycled compared to earlier this year.
