SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Several Ozarks counties are in extreme drought, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor. Texas, Barry, Lawrence, Stone, and Taney counties are listed in extreme drought, while the rest of the Ozarks is mostly in severe or moderate drought.
Trees across the region are showing brown, brittle leaves that are falling early, but the change is not related to the coming of fall.
