GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Brown County Library hosted a speaker as part of the Wisconsin Historical Society’s America 250 celebration who says a key part of American Revolution history is interconnected with Wisconsin’s land.
Dr. Michael Witgen, a professor of history at Columbia University and a citizen of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, said the legacy of the founding fathers can be seen in Wisconsin.
“If you’re in Wisconsin, you should not even be thinking about the revolution as the thing that happened on the East Coast, but think about it as the thing that’s relevant to your life here,” Witgen said.
