Thousands of Lubbock voters placed on suspense list

Over 10,000 voters in Lubbock County have been placed on the voter suspense list after failing to update their respective address to their county, according to the website for the Texas Secretary of State.

Voters placed on the suspense list are still eligible to vote but only in the county of their currently registered address. They have until Oct. 5 to update their address to the county they wish to vote in, according to votetexas.org.

“It (suspense list) protects voters’ ability to cast a ballot and maintains accurate voting rolls,” said Alica Pierce, assistant Secretary of State for Communications for the Texas Secretary of State. “The number on the list is consistent with what we’ve seen at this stage of the election cycle.”…
