A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in a shooting near South Ocean Boulevard in South Palm Beach on Thursday morning, sending multiple patrol units and a white sheriff’s van converging on the narrow barrier island community. It remains unclear what led to the shooting, whether anyone was injured, or how many people may have been hurt.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is investigating the deputy-involved shooting, according to WPEC, which reported that a viewer captured photos showing several deputies and a marked sheriff’s vehicle at the scene. The station’s report notes that police designated 3600 South Ocean Boulevard as the media staging area.
