Charges dismissed against father accused of fleeing motorcycle crash scene, leaving injured toddler

DETROIT – The case against a Detroit man accused of crashing his motorcycle while intoxicated and leaving his 1-year-old daughter — who was an unsecured passenger — injured at the scene, has been dismissed.

According to court records, the charges against 35-year-old Kabamba E. Kyalangalilwa were dismissed on Thursday after the complaining witness failed to appear.

The crash occurred on June 28 near the 12800 block of Braile Street in Detroit. Prosecutors alleged that Kyalangalilwa brought his daughter to a party in the area around 11:30 a.m., and some time later, left his daughter in the care of “unfamiliar” neighbors so she could swim with their children while he returned to the party…
