FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Firefighters responded to the Downtown Fresno area on Thursday night to battle a structure fire, according to the Fresno Fire Department.
People in the area called 911 to report a warehouse fire in the area of H and San Joaquin streets around 8:00 p.m., according to Fresno Fire.
Officials say fire crews arrived on scene moments later to find heavy smoke and flames emerging from the backside of a large warehouse. Firefighters were able to gain access quite easily, and they were able to quickly get water on the affected area, Fresno Fire says.
Around 30 firefighters were on scene and were able to keep the fire from spreading to surrounding buildings, according to the authorities. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about an hour, according to fire crews.
The warehouse did sustain some damage to the roofline, and some products such as plastic and styrofoam took damage as well, according to Fresno Fire. No one was injured, and the majority of the storage warehouse was left unaffected, according to the authorities…
