AJ Armstrong’s attorneys should get hearing to argue for new trial, appeals court rules

In another twist in one of Houston’s most closely watched murder cases, a new court ruling could grant AJ Armstrong to go on trial a fourth time for the murder of his parents back in 2016.

An appeals court determined Armstrong is entitled to a hearing, to determine if a fourth trial is warranted, over information, that was undisclosed to the defense.

The ruling does not mean he gets a new trial, but just the chance to formally argue for one in front of a judge…
