Irondale spending $19K on new traffic-calming policy

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The city of Irondale is spending more than $19,000 on a new traffic-calming policy, a step-by-step plan to handle speeding and other roadway complaints across the city.

The policy under development will use data to decide where to add speed humps, new signs, or other changes meant to slow drivers down. It covers the entire city, with a focus on Belmont and neighborhoods near the Costco development.
