Birmingham Police Make 86 Arrests, Seize 30 Guns and Fentanyl During Weeklong Enforcement

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham Police made 86 arrests and seized 30 firearms along with fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs during a week of enforcement operations across the city.

The department’s Special Operations Bureau reported the activity occurred from Sept. 7 through Sept. 13 as Special Enforcement Teams conducted operations targeting violent crime, firearms and narcotics activity.

Of the 86 arrests, 44 involved felony charges and 42 involved misdemeanor charges, according to police. The department did not release the names of those arrested or a breakdown of the individual charges…
