Emails reveal $67K in unpaid bills for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools: What we know

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Emails reviewed by WBTV on Thursday showed that Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools had overdue payments equaling $67,000 — the latest issue for the embattled district.

An email was sent by the district’s Chief Financial Officer Kelly Kluttz to the superintendent, alerting her to unpaid invoices, WBTV learned on Thursday, Sept 17. There were concerns that the finance department was unable to locate a contract or purchase order for the expenses.
