VA awards $34.9 million to N.C. groups fighting veteran homelessness

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCT) — The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $34.9 million in grants to help homeless veterans.

The grant was awarded to 25 community organizations to help veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in North Carolina.

This funding is made possible through the $1.17 billion in grants that has been awarded to 680 organizations across the country to help fight against veteran homelessness. These grants follow the success of the VA in housing 51,936 homeless veterans in 2025…
