A homeless man who was known to sleep in the vacant, two-story building on the former Alameda Naval Air Station that burned down Thursday morning has been located and he was uninjured.
The fire early Thursday destroyed an empty, derelict building — which was initially reported to be a warehouse but, via photos on KRON4, appears to have been a barracks or other sort of former military building on the base.
The building stood on Rainbow Court, about a block from Almanac Beer Co. Neighbors informed firefighters that a homeless man often stayed in the structure, and a search was underway for any possible remains after the fire was extinguished…
