Drugged man running on Pa. Turnpike causes crash: police

Sep. 18—An Ephrata man running on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in East Cocalico Township caused a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning that injured two people, according to police.

Andrew Chase Riehl, 24, was charged with two counts of recklessly endangering another person and six related offenses including public drunkenness. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing.

State police from the Bowmansville station were dispatched to a crash on the turnpike about a mile west of the Reading/ Ephrata exit at 9:27 a.m. Thursday. Riehl was reported to be running west in the eastbound lanes when he caused the crash, according to state police Cpl. Richard L. Levan…
