A wildfire broke out Thursday afternoon in the 16799 block of Schell Road near Knights Ferry, an unincorporated rural community in Stanislaus County, but firefighters later contained the blaze after it burned 11.7 acres.
The fire, dubbed the Schell Fire, ignited at approximately 3:57 PM on September 17, according to CAL FIRE incident logs. The fire later reached full containment, according to the Sacramento Bee. The blaze burned on private land, and its cause remains undetermined, according to the Sacramento Bee.
