Staten Island Fire Alert Issued After FDNY Responds to Residential Blaze This Morning
The smell of smoke hung over Oakwood on Thursday evening as firefighters rushed to a house fire on Malone Avenue. According to a report from SILive, the fire was called in shortly after 5:25 p.m., with flames spotted on the roof of a two-story home between Grayson and Pendale streets.
A total of 21 units and 79 firefighters and EMS personnel responded. Two firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to area hospitals. The fire was brought under control by 6:17 p.m. The cause remains under investigation.
