SYRACUSE, N.Y. — On September 16, members of the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit (CSU), assigned to a Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) detail, conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck on South Ave in the city of Syracuse for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
The New York State Police say during the traffic stop, the rear passenger, later identified as Troy W. Brothers fled on foot and was subsequently taken into custody. Troopers on scene with the vehicle say they observed what appeared to be a handgun in the rear seat. The firearm was later determined to be a BB gun.
Troopers say subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a loaded Heritage Rough Rider .22-caliber revolver, along with suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl…
