SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WWTI) – Three men from Gouverneur face felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop Wednesday evening in Syracuse led to the discovery of a loaded handgun, suspected drugs and a BB gun, according to the New York State Police.
Members of the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit stopped a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck on South Avenue around 7:20 p.m. for traffic violations. During the stop, a rear passenger ran away on foot before being arrested by troopers, who then searched the vehicle and seized illegal items.
Troopers assigned to a Gun Involved Violence Elimination detail initially observed what appeared to be a handgun in the rear seat of the pickup truck. Investigators later determined the object was a BB gun. A further search of the vehicle yielded a loaded Heritage Rough Rider .22-caliber revolver, along with suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl…
