An Arlington police officer fatally shot a man who moved toward him with a knife late Thursday, officials said.
Officers responded to the 1700 block of West Lovers Lane about 10:45 p.m. after a 911 caller reported that a 56-year-old man was making suicidal comments and had access to knives, Arlington police spokesperson Courtney White said at a news conference Friday. The caller let the officers in and showed them the room where the man was.
