SHREVEPORT, La. — A major traffic collision involving two 18-wheelers caused severe disruptions and left two people dead along Interstate 20 on Friday afternoon.
According to Chief Clarence Reese, one 18-wheeler was traveling westbound when it crashed, overturned, and landed in the eastbound lanes between Pines Road and Greenwood Road. A second 18-wheeler swerved to avoid the overturned truck.
Two people suffered serious head injuries in the wreck. Nurses who happened to be nearby quickly rendered aid to the victims before emergency personnel arrived. First responders requested a medical helicopter, and one victim was airlifted under a trauma alert…
