Comedian Carrot Top, 61, is currently recovering in a Las Vegas hospital after being rushed there due to a medical emergency just hours before a scheduled performance.
Scott Christopher Thompson, known professionally as Carrot Top, was taken to a local hospital by police on Friday, September 19, ahead of his show at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. According to reports, the show was subsequently canceled. However, the comedian’s representatives have not disclosed the cause of his hospitalization.
Michael Levine, Carrot Top’s former representative, offered a tribute to the entertainer’s unique comedic style in a statement to The Mirror US. Levine praised Carrot Top’s originality, highlighting his “wild red hair, explosive energy, ingenious props, and unmistakable stage presence,” describing him as having created “an entirely new comedic language.” He noted that while critics sometimes dismissed his approach, audiences consistently embraced the laughter he inspired.
Carrot Top has been a staple of the Las Vegas entertainment scene for over 20 years, with his residency at the Luxor beginning in 2005 and becoming a defining element of his career.
