Area hospitals receive top local, statewide ratings

Four St. Louis area hospitals were recently recognized for excellence by U.S. News & World Report, making the publication’s list of Best Regional Hospitals for 2026-2027 as well as receiving top performance ratings for certain procedures and their high level of skill in treating specific medical conditions.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital and BJC Missouri Baptist Medical Center were ranked at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, both in the St. Louis metro and in Missouri. Barnes-Jewish Hospital also received national rankings among the country’s top 50 hospitals in 10 out of 13 eligible adult medical specialties. In addition, Barnes-Jewish was recognized as High Performing, a designation given to top-tier programs that excel significantly in their fields but do not receive a numerical ranking, in 18 other procedures or conditions.
