We have made it to the weekend! It has been quite a wet week in New Mexico and in Albuquerque. Last night’s showers and storms brought 0.62″ worth of rainfall to the Sunport and roughly 0.75″ in areas of northeast Albuquerque. This adds onto our total for the month which puts us just shy of two inches worth of rainfall at the Sunport! Today’s forecast has a decrease of showers and storms across New Mexico. Drier air will be the theme for this weekend’s forecast and for this coming Monday!
This morning a few spotty storms are moving through I-40 in McKinely County and through Crownpoint. A few spotty showers or storms are possible in western New Mexico, northern mountains or southern Colorado late this morning before isolated rain and storms develop later. The Albuquerque Metro cannot be ruled out to see showers and storms during the evening. A few strong storms could develop across the state today, but drier air will be the theme this weekend. Drier air arrives today to parts of the state and will take precedent on Sunday. The forecast is dry for the majority of the state tomorrow and Monday. A backdoor front on Monday will bring an uptick of moisture in eastern New Mexico that will bring rain and a few storms to the forecast…
