Limited storm coverage Sunday ahead of the potential for severe storms on Monday
- Today: Staying steamy with some additional spotty P.M. storm chances (30%). A storm or two could produce strong winds. High: 92° (Heat Index: ~100°).
- Tonight: Mild and humid with a stray shower/storm (20%). Low: 71°.
- Monday (AWARE): Hot and humid with scattered storms. A few storms could become severe and produce strong wind gusts. High: 92° (Heat Index: ~100°).
Today will be another quite steamy late-September day, with many staying dry, but a couple more storms are certainly possible once again later in the afternoon and evening (still looking at about 20-30% coverage). Any storm that can form could produce damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. And once again, it will remain hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s and Heat Index Values close to triple digits.
Tonight will be muggy and very mild with lows only falling near 70° once again. There could be a random shower at just about any point through the night, but most do look to stay dry.
Highs on Monday will still be near 90°, but a weak front slides in from the west, so we will see some rain/storm chances later in the day/evening (some locally heavy) for the region. A few of the storms later in the afternoon/evening could also produce some gusty to damaging winds with the potential for isolated areas of damage, so we will be weather AWARE for that threat. Still not everyone sees rain on Monday, but chances will continue to increase each day, leading up to a soggier Tuesday and Wednesday…
