HACKENSACK, NJ — Two teacher’s assistants have been charged with physically abusing children at a Hackensack daycare center, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Deily E. Perez of the Bronx and Chillyann V. Spencer of Paterson were each charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Hackensack Police Department.
The investigation began Sept. 11 after the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted prosecutors about the alleged physical assault of two juveniles at the daycare center.
