ROCHESTER, N.Y. — People biked, ran, and walked this weekend to raise money for cancer research at the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Wilmot Warrior Weekend took place at the Xerox Campus in Webster on Sunday.
Biking from early Sunday morning:
“I have to say, everytime I go – it motivates me to work that much harder to fight cancer – seeing families and patients pouring their energy into fundraising for us and having a celebration is incredibly motivating, said Dr. Jonathan Friedberg, director of Wilmot Cancer Institute.
“It’s really hard to find someone who hasn’t been impacted by cancer, and I used to do fundraisers, and all of a sudden, it’s me,” said Angela Uttaro, Wilmot board member. Uttaro said she’s a cancer survivor, battling pancreatic cancer for nine years.
