The Brentwood Board of Aldermen on Sept. 21 will consider final passage of 2026 tax rates for the city, and residents are expected to see a significant drop in property taxes.
At the currently proposed rates, residential tax rates in Brentwood will decrease by 61% because the city will not be assessing a library tax rate this year.
Last year, the tax rate for the library was .397 per $100 of assessed value. The tax rate for the city’s pension fund will remain the same at .2490 per $100 of assessed value and will be the only tax assessed on residential property…
