RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The owner of Salud Beer Shop, a staple in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood, pled guilty last week to several charges related to unlawful tax collection.
Court documents show that Jason Glunt was initially charged with nine counts of embezzlement of state property between 2015 and 2024. On Sept. 14, he entered a guilty plea in Wake County with the reduced charges of nine counts of aid and abetting embezzlement of state property.
He must pay $442,000 back to the state, and has already sent $100,000. The remaining amount must be paid back over an agreed-upon schedule. Further, he must spend three days in custody, be placed on house arrest (outside of medical treatment, employment, religious services) and complete 100 hours of community service…
