INDIANAPOLIS — For Samantha, finding stability used to feel nearly impossible. Battling a substance use disorder since age 20 and facing imminent homelessness while fighting a Department of Child Services (DCS) case, she was trapped in what she describes as constant “survival mode.”
That changed when a connection made at a local Narcotics Anonymous meeting at South Lynnhurst Baptist Church led her to the Marvetta & Anthony Grimes Family Center on Indianapolis’ West Side.
“I got connected with them, and they got me in because I was getting ready to be homeless, and I was currently fighting a DCS case, so it was really hard for me to find stability and housing,” Grimes shared. “They got me in as quick as possible.”…
