CONYERS — Rockdale County residents opposed to a proposed nearly 300-acre data center campus gathered outside the county’s Assembly Hall Saturday, urging commissioners to reject the project and give the community more time to consider how to regulate future data centers.
The Sept. 19 protest at 901 Main St. came less than a week before the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to hold a Sept. 24 zoning public hearing, where pending land-use requests connected to the proposed Project Rockforge data center campus are expected to return before commissioners. The county confirms the zoning hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Assembly Hall.
