MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A federal grand jury returned two indictments in separate interstate cargo thefts totaling nearly $600,000 in losses, said the United States Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Tennessee on Monday.
A grand jury indicted Aubrey Brown, 53, and Kemptrell Daniels, 24, after the two allegedly knowingly received or possessed Arista computer networking switches and other commercial freight valued at more than $5,000 after their theft from an interstate shipment from July 2024 to August 2024, prosecutors said.
According to Memphis Police, an 18-wheeler was parked near a warehouse off Lamar Avenue on July 12, 2024. The driver told police he was unable to make a delivery and went to sleep, but when he woke, his trailer had been burglarized.
