WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — One teacher in south-central Kansas has been named the 2027 Kansas Teacher of the Year.
Brandy Lane, a seventh-grade English language arts teacher at Eisenhower Middle School in Goddard Public Schools, was named the 2027 Kansas Teacher of the Year on Saturday at a banquet attended by more than 350 educators, business leaders and guests.
“Kansas students thrive in her classroom because they know they matter,” Kansas Education Commissioner Jake Steel said. “She possesses all the traits of what makes a Kansas Teacher of the Year: a relentless passion for wanting students to learn and be the best versions of themselves.”
