LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Shoulder to shoulder, the Chutima sisters responded to claims that their household is feuding following the closure of a business bearing their restaurant’s name inside a Las Vegas casino. The family is hoping to bring their reasoning to the table, alongside some Thai-style ceviche.
The Bua Group announced the closure of the Lotus of Siam inside the Red Rock Resort Casino and Spa on Aug. 31, citing changing business needs. A week later, the Chutima family, who own the original Lotus of Siam restaurants, said the closure should not be mischaracterized as a family rift.

“There’s no such thing as a family feud,” Penny Chutima, Lotus of Siam co-owner, said. “Yes, there’ll be disagreements like every other family has, but there was never a time where it’s like, hey, I’m going to go and sue my parents.”
A 22-page federal suit was filed by the Chutima family against their former partner Bua Group over trademark infringement.
