INDIANAPOLIS— A man thrown out of an Indianapolis City-County Council meeting earlier this month has filed a tort claim against the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
On Sept. 9, an Indianapolis City-County Council committee meeting was met with protestors after the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department chief proposed the 2027 budget. The protestors were there to advocate for Dalys Jett, a 21-year-old man accused of shooting at IMPD officers before being fatally shot.
The family of Jett has been very outwardly spoken on IMPD’s alleged lack of information and accountability as the case continues to be scrutinized. IMPD Chief Tanya Terry had arrived at the committee meeting to propose an increased 2027 budget. When met with protestor disagreement, Chief Terry tried to give a statement, but her words were drowned out by the shouts of protestors…
