Families and students in need will have new backpacks for the school year, carrying essential items through Ethan Resnick’s The Backpack Project. Resnick has collected nearly 400 lightly used backpacks and school supplies to distribute to those who can use them. The program also collected dozens of supply bags and toiletry items for distribution through nourish.NJ and Newark-area schools, according to EIN Press Wire.
The program partners with nourish.NJ in Morristown and Newark schools to deliver donations. Statistics show that 1 in every 4 students in U.S. public schools can’t afford basic back-to-school essentials, roughly 16 million children. Resnick wanted to help these students and families.
