BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man from the Town of Aurora was arrested Tuesday morning after a standoff that lasted nearly 12 hours, according to East Aurora Police.
Police and SWAT were called to the 1700 block of Boies Road around 7 p.m. Monday after a caller informed dispatchers that a man was threatening to kill his family and harm himself. Officials said the 32-year-old man was alone in the residence at the time of the call.
Authorities ordered neighbors to stay in their homes for most of the standoff before the man surrendered around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police said he was transported to ECMC for a mental health evaluation, and criminal charges are pending.
