The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County will present the 48th Annual International Folk Festival on Sept. 25-26 in downtown Fayetteville. According to an announcement from the Arts Council, this two-day event brings food from more than two dozen countries, performances from groups representing 25 nations, and free admission.
Friday, Sept. 25 kicks off with an evening celebration on Hay Street called Fiesta en la Calle. The Arts Council has teamed up with El Centro Hispano, a Raleigh-based nonprofit, to bring live music and dance performances downtown. Inside the Arts Council building, attendees can join a free mail art workshop inspired by the exhibition Celebration of Sapphire: Mail Art from Around the World.
Saturday, Sept. 26 starts at 10 a.m. with the Parade of Nations. Over 1,000 marchers will represent more than 25 nations in the procession…
