MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin and the University of Memphis will sign a memorandum of understanding at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, in UT Martin’s Paul Meek Library.
The agreement will outline a 3+3 Bachelor Arts/Juris Doctor and 3+3 Bachelor of Science/Juris Doctor degree, enabling UT Martin students to study through the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law is named for a Paris native.
The agreement will enable the University of Memphis to recruit and retain UT Martin students who are interested in attaining a juris doctorate degree. UT Martin students would complete the general education requirements and core courses within a three-year period in the following degrees prior to matriculation to the University of Memphis School of Law:
- Bachelor of Arts in Agricultural Business: Agriculture and Environmental Law and Policy Concentration,
- Bachelor of Arts in English, and
- Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
UT Martin will allow students to transfer up to 32 credit hours of successfully completed courses during their first year at the University of Memphis School of Law.
