MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Fiesta Mexicana opened in 1999 as a family business and has spent more than 25 years serving the Grand Strand.
Gabriel Hernandez, the owners’ son, works full-time at the restaurant. He said his father is Mexican and his mother is Ecuadorian, and both had experience in the restaurant industry before opening Fiesta Mexicana.
“My dad’s Mexican, my mom’s Ecuadorian, and obviously they’ve had experience in the restaurant industry, and this was back in 1999. My dad was the chef, so the kitchen and the recipes and all that came from the Mexican side,” Hernandez said.
