Sigma Nursing’s board of directors has unanimously voted to dismiss Chief Executive Officer Lucas Davis following a weeklong review of a leaked recording in which he was accused of using racial slurs. Davis had led the Indianapolis-based nursing organization since 2024 and was placed on administrative leave while the board’s review played out.
According to WKRC, independent legal counsel reviewed the video before the board voted to end Davis’s employment as CEO. Davis had become CEO on August 19, 2024, according to a separate report from nurse.org. Sigma Nursing, founded in 1922, announced the leadership change in a social media post on Friday, September 18.
